This month on Happy Little Stampers there’s a new challenge available for you to participate in. The challenge is Anything Goes with Dies. I was selected as a Design Team member and this is my first card for this month. For this challenge, use any of your favorite dies with your favorite stamps, paper, or mixed media. I decided to use a new set of dies that I purchased a few weeks ago. This set is by Spellbinders and is called All Stitched Up.
About the project that I decided to use my new Dies on. This card is for my Mother-In-Law who will be celebrating her 75th Birthday next month. She sews all year long, not as much as she use to but she’s always working on a project for someone.
I just received a package in the mail with new stamps and stencils. Of course, I was so excited that I had to find a reason (ha ha) to use them right away. I decided to enter into the Anything CAS Goes with the optional color twist: Spring Green.
I have used several different items and brands in this card. They are as follows: Stampin’ Up cardstock in Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Vanilla and DSP, Stamplorations Happy Sunflower Stamp and Confetti Circles Stencil, Stampin’ Up! Botanical Blooms Dies, Ranger Distressed Inks, Stampin’ Up Hello Honey ink, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen, MFT Washi Tape Dies, Stampin Dimensionals, Rhinestones and Tombow Glue.
I received an email about the Happy Little Stampers Die Cuts Challenge this month and when I viewed all of the showcase Designers this idea just popped in my head to use a die that I bought from mftstamps. It’s called Christmas Tree cutout. I’ve been trying to figure out different ways to use this die and when I saw how Ingrid had showcased using the negative it gave me this idea.
To make this card, I first trimmed my top layer to size (3.75 X 5). I then ran the die thru the big shot to cut out my image. Once this was completed I cut a second piece for the background. On the second piece, I used the Stampin UP! Watercolor Wash Background stamp. In order to give it the variation of color that I was looking for, I used Ranger Distress inks to ink up the stamp. I used the mini stamps in multiple spots adding a bit of different greens to the mix. Once I added all of the different shades of green, , I then used a brown for the base of the tree and stamped on my piece of paper. I then let it dry and adhered the two pieces together. Once they were adhered, I cut my background piece of black (4 X 5.25) and adhered it to my green base. I decided to use the sentiment from the Stampin Up! Stamp Set Wondrous Wreath. I stamped it in Real Red. I added dimensionals behind the sentiment and the white card base so it would pop out. I then added Pretty Pink Posh sequins to the card to give it more of the Christmas feel. Hope you enjoy your week! Let me know what you think about the card and join in the fun over at Happy Little Stampers!
This is a card that I made for my Goddaughter who just turned eight. Hard to believe how time is flying by! Katie is such a sweetie and I just love to make cards for her and with her. When she opened the card, the first thing she said was “I know you made this just for me”. It was just so sweet how she acknowledged that it was just for her. She sat and read the whole thing admiring the bling on it.
For this card, I used Designer series paper for It’s My Party DSP Paper Stack, The Number of Years stamp set and Large Numbers framelits dies, , Balloon Celebration Stamp Set, Ballon Bouquet Punch, Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Mint Macaron Card Stock, Melon Mambo Card Stock and Crushed Curry Card Stock, and rhinestones.
I didn’t really have much time last night to do much, and knew that I wanted to hold myself accountable with the 30 Day Color Challenge that Kathy with The Daily Marker is holding, so I took a few minutes and colored my little chick that I’m planning on sending to a friend just to say “Hello”. This stamp comes from Stampin Up and is a Sale-A-Bration item. (Free with a $50 purchase).
On Tuesday, I received an email from the Creative Grove with a Neutral Tone Stenciling project video and proceeded to watch it. I fell in love with how this was done and figured why not take out one of my stencils and give this a try. I just loved how it turned out and wanted to share it with everyone.
For this project, I used Ranger Distress inks, Stampin’ Up! Black ink, Stampin’ Up! card stock, black embossing powder. I am entering this into the Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge.
I am taking a class on Water coloring and last night I did one of the lessons so I could keep up with the 30 day Color Challenge that Kathy with The Daily Marker is hosting. I haven’t done much water coloring but I did sign up to take the Online Water Color class that is going on now. I am a little behind but it’s okay because I’m able to watch it at my leisure.
Here are the two cards that I made water coloring last night:
I am very pleased with the way the two cards came out. Thanks for stopping by! Have a Wonderful Day! 🙂
It’s time to Celebrate Birthdays and to join in on the 30 Day Color Challenge! I need to get my Mojo back and I thought why not accomplish this with the 30 day color challenge. Anyone can join in so give it a try! You can do any form of coloring. I’m taking a watercolor class so I think tonight I’m going to give that a try. Maybe I’ll share it will you tomorrow.
This card that I have made is a clean and simple style. I just really wanted to showcase the beauty of the Balloons. I used the Mint Macaroon Ink and Paper and added the splash of black behind to showcase the color. Hope you all have a Wonderful Day!
After receiving an email from a blog that I subscribe too, I discovered several tag challenges. For this tag, I’m participating in two different ones.
The tag I have created is a Mixed Media tag. I used a Tim Holtz stencil and white embossing paste to make my background. I then added a few spots of gold stickles. I then stamped and punched out my poinsettia. After laying the poinsettia atop of the base I decided that I needed a sentiment so I stamped my sentiment and then punched the right side of it to add more character.
Once the layout was completed I then added my bow and tag ribbon to it. I hope this tag gives you inspiration. Have a Wonderful week!
Please be sure and visit the following two sites that I’m participating in their mixed media challenge.
I was inspired to make this card this week after seeing a project done by Ingrid Blackburn. She used a holly stencil and made several beautiful cards with it. I decided to use a holly stencil as well and used silver embossing paste for my background. I then cut the piece into thirds to apply to my Stampin’ Up! Real Red card stock. I placed the 3 pieces on my Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Cardstock. I then decided to cut a tag to add my Santa (DSP Stampin’ Up!). Before adding him I used a piece of silver cording to add some depth to him. Lastly, I added my Christmas Wishes (Stampin’ Up! Ornamental Pine Stamp Set) Sentiment.
If you’ve never tried using Embossing paste, I suggest you do so. It’s so much fun!!! and Beautiful when completed.
